Nathan's Naturals is named for Nathan, grandson of business owners Steve and Judy Greenough. Steve, Judy, their daughter Kristi, and Nathan all work on the family farm. We are committed and passionate, enjoy working our farm, love growing botanicals for distilling into beautiful, fragrant hydrosols and essential oils.
Farming has generational roots in our family, grandparents and parents were gardeners and farmers. Getting our hands in the dirt and growing organically fits our values for stewardship of the land, a sustainable lifestyle, caring for the health of land and people. Farming is a fairly late-in-life experience for us. We like the challenge of learning new ways of doing things. We've been growing food gardens for years, love the beauty and connection to the land of a rural lifestyle, and wanted to establish a farm on our property to provide fresh, high quality food and botanicals for others to enjoy.
The opportunity to become farmers/distillers came with a special friendship--Jud and Anne Carleton of Morning Myst Botanics contracted with us to grow certified organic rose geranium and other botanicals. After a couple years of successfully growing for them, they asked if we'd like to get into the distilling end of things. Another year, much thought, and we were ready to buy our first stills. With careful tutoring and many visits to their farm to observe and help in the process, we were actually distilling our own rose geranium! It's a very careful process, lots of attention to detail, and we love it!
